Latter-Day Pamphlets

Oh, what an empire it was! Terrible in its formation, awesome in its operation, and now horrifying in its decline.

These Latter-Day Pamphlets narrate the many trials of the British Empire in the 19th century, as she slowly began her inexorable descent. You cannot save everything; indeed, you may not be able to salvage much of anything. Every choice has a cost.

This is a floating-module based piece of interactive fiction. The pamphlets you read will arrive in an unpredictable order, and will usually differ significantly between readings.

Latter-Day Pamphlets was written for ECTOCOMP 2023. As we gather to tell each other scary stories in commemoration of Spooky Season, I find no need to venture into the supernatural realm for horror. The true horror is what we do to one another in service of such things as empire.
